People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) on Wednesday received massive backlash for ir Raksha Bandhan campaign asking people to celebrate a 'lear-free' Raksha Bandhan. citizens in Gujarat were baffled after y saw massive billboards from PETA India asking people to give up use of lear this Raksha Bandhan in a bid to protect cows. Netizens took to Twitter to ask PETA where exactly y felt lear was used in festival of Raksha Bandhan slamming m for ir ill-timed and unrelated campaign for cow protection.

'Mess was to protect cows like our sisters' 

Responding to outr, PETA India issued a statement saying that ir mess h been taken in wrong sense and that y were vocating for protection of cows on a day when brors vowed to protect ir sisters, "We didn’t say rakhis are me of lear. We said Raksha Bandhan is a good day to extend protection to cows who are our sisters under skin by taking a pledge to go lear-free, for life. That’s a mess all kind people can get behind."

Earlier PETA h faced a massive backlash for ir campaign urging people to turn vegan and stop goat slaughter on Bakri Eid. After an official complaint with Luckw police, billboard was taken down for 'hurting religious sentiments'.
