Communist party of India (CPI) on Saturday targeted Amit Shah over 'one langu' remarks me by Home Minister on occasion of Hindi Diwas and demanded him to withdraw his statement. In a statement issued by CPI, party has stated that re is a need to respect, protect and nurture diversity of nation so that unity is ensured. statement furr stated that Amit Shah's views are 'an attempt of NDA Government to impose Hindi as a part of Hindutva nda of RSS', which CPI alleged will divide nation.
CPI questions Amit Shah's remarks
Speaking to Republic TV in matter, CPI's National secretary D Raja said that party does t agree with Home Minister on imposition of Hindi langu throughout country. He furr alleged that BJP is using 'langu as a tool for divisive purpose and polarise people'.

"We don't agree with him, re is a unity in diversity in our country all our langus must be promoted, preserved and treated equally. What is this Hindi, Hindutva and Hindustan? It is thing but an ideology and nda of RSS. In several parts of country people are alrey agitated and questioning his statement. This will furr le to assault on our unity and integrity. y are using langu as a tool for divisive purpose and polarise people. It is ir nda of One nation one culture, one nation one religion, one nation one langue, one Nation one election," D Raja said speaking in matter.
BJP counters CPI
Countering CPI's statement and retreating his party's stand, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said that saffron party respects all langu and diversity of nation. He rejected claims of CPI, ding that 'Hindi is langu which unites people across country and it should be propagated'.

"What Amit Shah ji has said is on occasion of Hindi Diwas and is in consonance with spirit of constitution of country. Hindi langu has been given a special and unique status under Constitution. Hindi is langu which connects more than 60 crore Indians and thus Hindi should be propagated throughout country. We respect all langus and linguistic diversity of country. leer should oppose or hate Hindi to hurt sentiments of Hindi-speaking community. Certain irrelevant, regional parties can't rise above petty politics and respect principle of unity in diversity. PM Modi and Amit Shah believe in philosophy of uniting India, be it - abrogation of Article 370 or abolition of malpractice of Triple Talaq. opposition believes in philosophy of dividing India on basis of Religion and region," said BJP's Gaurav Bhatia.
Amit Shah's one langu pitch
On Saturday, speaking on occasion of Hindi Diwas in Vigyan Bhawan, Home Minister Amit shah said that Hindi is most widely spoken langu which unites people across country. Taking to Twitter, Home Minister also said that India has many langus and every langu has its importance. However, he insisted on need for one langu that becomes India's identity internationally.
