Crackdown on Narcotics: 8 Kg Heroin, 6 Kg Opium Seized In Amritsar, Two Nabbed
Two persons involved in part of a cross-border smuggling group have been arrested with more than 8 Kg Heroin and 6 Kg opium in Amritsar.

Amritsar: A trans-border narco smuggling group was busted leing to recovery of a huge quantity of drugs and a sizeable amount of arms near Amritsar, an official statement said on Friday.
Two persons involved in network have been arrested. accused have been identified as itya Pratap alias Kaka (23), a resident of Bhalla Colony in Cheharta, Amritsar and Shambhu Kabir (35).

recoveries include 8.27 kg Heroin, 6 kg opium, 13.1 kg chemical and 4 pistols including one sophisticated 9MM Glock along with 17 cartridges from ir possession.
A case has been registered under NDPS act and Arms Act.

Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that, acting on reliable intelligence regarding involvement of accused itya alias Kaka in weapon smuggling, police teams from nearby police Station set up a trap and successfully arrested him from Band Bhatha on Prem Nagar Ro in Kot Khalsa, Amritsar.
“During arrest, y recovered two pistols— a .32 bore and a .30 bore— along with 13 live cartridges. Furr investigation led to identification of anor suspect, Shambu Kabir. Police immediately targeted him, launching an operation that culminated in his arrest from Old Gas Godown area on Guru Ki Wali Ro, Kot Khalsa. From Shambu's possession, authorities seized 275 grams of heroin, 11.1 kg of chemical (used to cut heroin), and a .32 bore pistol,” police official said.

officials said that furr arrests and ditional recoveries are likely to happen in coming days.
