Days after a life-threatening trdy was averted in Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara after local police and administration successfully rescued two girls who were trapped in middle of a river, district administration on Monday imposed Section 144 in Barwani of Madhya Pradesh and banned taking selfies near water bodies in district.
On Thursday, police rescued two girls, who got stuck in Pench river while taking selfies. Despite restrictions due to impact of Coronavirus and a ban on mass garing, a group of 6-8 girls visited Pench river in Chhindwara district's Belkhedi vill for a picnic.

'y went to take a selfie'
To take a 'perfect selfie', two of m sat on a stone in middle of river. Meanwhile, water level of river rose suddenly and y found mselves trapped. Looking at this, ir friends informed police administration about incident. police and local administration along with gram panchayat acted swiftly and rescued girls safely.

"A group of six girls came to riverside of which two went into Pench river to click selfie but y stuck after water level of river rose," SK Singh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) said.

"A team of police personnel mand to rescue girls with help of local administration and also some of villrs. girls were standing on rock for an hour. y were so frightened that y could barely speak even after y were rescued. y were sent to hospital however re is casualty," SDPO added.
