Amit Malviya on anti-CAA protest at AMU: 'No law that stops police from entering campus'

BJP leader Amit Malviya posted a video from the Dec 15 anti-CAA protests at AMU. He also wrote about how no law can stop cops from entering a college campus

Amid uproar over amended citizenship law, BJP's IT cell chief Amit Malviya on Friday took to his official Twitter handle and posted a video by Uttar Presh Police showcasing violent behaviour by Aligarh Muslim University students. video posted by BJP leer shows students trying to break one of university gates to step outside campus even as UP police try to stop m.

In his tweet, BJP IT cell he spoke about how video didn't show  students holding tricolour or carrying out a peaceful protest. In fact, he pointed out how it showed  complete opposite of what a few journalists claimed. He also wrote about how re is such law that stops police from entering college or university campuses.

December 15 clip from AMU protests 

Earlier on December 24, Republic TV h accessed CCTV foot from December 15 from area around Aligarh Muslim University during  protest against  Citizenship Amendment Act. visuals indicate that some students tried to forcibly break one of gates of University. y allegedly attacked police personnel reafter. On or hand, police tried to push back protesters as Section 144 was in force at that time. AMU students alleged that police personnel entered campus and manhandled m, resulting in multiple injuries.

Cops respond to allegations by AMU students 

Responding to allegations of students, Akash Kulhary, SSP Aligarh stated that AMU students were speaking from ir own perspective. He maintained that videos would reveal truth. Revealing that police h pinned responsibility of violence on students in affidavits submitted to Allahab High Court and Supreme Court, he claimed that police h used n-lethal weapons in self-defence. Kulhary appealed to AMU students to bring any or videos in ir possession which could help in ascertaining who exactly was at fault.
