Earlier on Monday, after major furore from Lok Sabha MPs and many politicians over Azam Khan's sexist remarks at Lok Sabha chair Rama Devi, made on July 25 in the Parliament, the SP MP was forced to apologise to the Lok Sabha chair in the Parliament after being directed by the Speaker Om Birla.

"The entire House know my speech and behaviour, inspite of that if the Chair thinks that I have made a mistake in emotion, I apologise for it," the SP MP said.
Sitting beside him, SP chief and Azamgarh MP Akhilesh Yadav came out in defence of his party leader and said that Khan said whatever he had to say.

Azam Khan's Sexist Remarks at LS Chair
On Thursday, the Lok Sabha witnessed uproar amid the Triple Talaq Bill debate when SP MP Azam Khan made sexist remarks at Lok Sabha chair Rama Devi. While Azam Khan made the filthy remarks at Rama Devi, SP chief president Akhilesh Yadav grinned and asked him to continue to speak amid chaos in the Lok Sabha. Later, defending his party leader, Akhilesh Yadav said that there was nothing disgraceful or intentional on what Azam Khan said.

"I really like you so much that I feel like keep looking into your eyes. I feel like never taking my eyes off you," Azam Khan said talking to the Lok Sabha chair. (Aap mujhe itni achi lagti hai ki aapke aankho main aankhe dale rahu ye mera man karta hai. Main kabhi na nazar haatau aapse. Aap kitni acchi jagah baithi hai."

Like Father, Like Son:
This is not the first time that the Samajwadi Party leader has made a derogatory comment against a woman. Following his father's sexist footsteps, Azam Khan's son and MLA - Abdullah Khan made a statement referring to Jaya Prada as Anarkali.
"Rampur wants Ali as well as Bajrangbali but does not want Anarkali," he said at SP's final rally ahead of voting in the third phase.
