BJP expels Unnao rape-accused MLA Kuldeep Sengar just as SC hears case, Hema Malini says 'late but welcome'

As the Supreme Court takes strict action on the Unnao Rape Case, the BJP expelled its accused MLA Kuldeep Sengar from the party.

As Supreme Court takes strict action on Unnao Rape Case, BJP expelled its accused MLA Kuldeep Sengar from party. Two years after Unnao rape case and days after accident on victim that killed her two aunts and put her lawyer and herself in critical condition, BJP has expelled accused MLA Kuldeep Sengar.

Earlier BJP spokesperson h said that he was suspended after case came against him but did t release a press te on same. ditionally, three security guards of victim has also been suspended on charges that y did t here to ir security duties. Sengar is a four-time MLA from UP's Bangermau, and is accused of raping woman, and he was arrested last year in April.

Speaking on development, BJP MP Hema Malini said that it is a welcoming step and UP State women commission chief said that  victim's mor is happy with CJI's steps. She ded that she met family and Yogi govt will give every help to victim. Congress called it as victory of people's campaign against BJP.

Supreme Court's hearing on Thursday

As case was being heard by CJI Ranjan Gogoi, major developments were ted including transfer of all cases to New Delhi. CJI also raised and questioned  custodial death of far of Unnao rape survivor. CJI gave 7-days deline to investigative ncy to complete probe.

top court asked if Unnao victim can be airlifted from Luckw hospital and ordered to form panel of doctors and to inform SC till 2 PM if she and her lawyer can be airlifted. court also pulled up on why Unnao victim mor's letter did t reach him to which he was answered that 5000 letters come to CJI's office everyday and hence delay. CJI Ranjan Gogoi also asked as to who was accused after  custodial death of victim's far. It ordered UP govt to give compensation to victim.

Unnao rape case:

17-year-old victim was allegedly raped by BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar on 4 June 2017. After accusing him in April 2018, victim h attempted to self-immolate before Uttar Presh chief minister's residence.

Following that, her far was assaulted, allegedly by rape-accused BJP MLA's bror Atul Singh Sengar. Before succumbing to his injuries, victim's far h named Atul Singh Sengar as his assaulter in video testimony. In April 2018, a case was registered against Unnao rape accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar under section 363, 366, 376, 506 and Pocso Act of Indian Penal Code and was sent to jail. Sengar along with his bror Atul Singh is in jail since n.

Rape survivor's mor's letter:

In a shocking revelation in Unnao rape victim accident, Republic TV on Monday h accessed a letter written by victim's mor on July 13,  to UP Police detailing threats she and her family are facing. She has claimed that a couple of individuals stating that y would file a counter case of bribery against victim and her family ensuring that y will rot in jail if y do t take back rape case filed against BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar. victim's mor also claims that she received continuous threats on July 7 and 8.

On Sunday, Unnao rape survivor, her family and lawyer were travelling when y were hit by an overspeeding truck in Rae Bareli, killing two members and leaving her and vocate critically injured. Uttar Presh police on Monday filed a murder case against BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and nine ors after rape survivor's family filed a complaint, alleging "conspiracy" behind accident.
