Bombay High Court, on October 10, quashed molestation case against Ness Wia filed by actor Preity Zinta. A division bench of Justices Ranjit More and Bharti Dangre heard petition filed by Ness Wia who was seeking to quash case. two were directed by bench to appear in court on Wednesday to "finish off" matter. case is w closed. 

In 2014, Bollywood actress Preity Zinta lodged a complaint against ex-boyfriend Ness Wia alleging her modesty was outrd. In last hearing of case, that was filed by Preity Zinta against industrialist Ness Wia, court suggested that both parties resolve issue in ir personal capacity.

Reportedly, Zinta's counsel h informed court that actress is willing to drop case if Ness Wia was rey to apologise. lawyer, reportedly, also said that y were t insisting on a written apology. Wia's counsel Ab Ponda earlier indicates that industrialist was t rey to apologise. Ponda also said to court that Preity Zinta wanted to extract an apology and get media attention, as reported. 

Sources close to Ness Wia said move is ‘a big relief’ to IPL team owner who has been battling charges filed by his ex-girlfriend. Preity Zinta meanwhile showed a thumbs up to reporters outside Court on Wednesday when asked on her reaction to developments.

With case quashed, 4 year long legal battle has come to an end. police took four years to file actual charge-sheet against Ness Wia (in February 2018) under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult modesty of a woman) of Indian Penal Code. Ness contested charges calling m false. 

'Kal Ho Naa Ho' actress and industrialist are co-owners of Kings XI Punjab team that is a part of IPL. Preity Zinta is w married to Gene Goodeugh, Senior Vice-President for Finance at NLine Energy, a US-based hydroelectric power company.
