District authorities in National Capital Region (NCR), including that of Ghaziab, ida and Gurugram, have urged people t to fall for any rumors and fear-mongering on social media platforms about Citizenship Amendment Act and have asked citizens to maintain peace.

Pamphlets circulated by authorities

Ghaziab and ida authorities have even distributed pamphlets in order to stop rumors about  newly-enacted citizenship act due to which violent protests were held in Jamia Millia University, JNU and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and in different parts of country.

pamphlets educated people about objective of citizenship act. It said that CAA is t to take away citizenship of Muslims in country but to grant Indian citizenship to mirities facing religious persecution in neighboring countries.  pamphlets also said that re is anuncement on implementation of NRC across country and asked  citizens to keep calm.

pamphlets furr appealed to people to maintain mutual brorhood and social harmony.

Gurugram Police said that it is monitoring those spreing rumors. 

"Keeping in mind current situation over Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019, Gurugram Police is keeping an eye on people spreing rumors on social media about new law," it said.

Bengaluru City Police (BCP) has also vised people t to pay attention to rumors and false information on social media.  measures have been taken in wake of widespre protests across country against  newly-enacted citizenship law, which grants Indian citizenship to refugees from Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Parsi communities fleeing religious persecution from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Banglesh, who entered India on or before December 31, 2014.

Several protests were held across country of which many took a violent turn in which protestors resorted to stone-pelting and damaging public property injuring several policemen. Also, re is widespre outr over Delhi police attacking students of JNU, AMU and Jamia. Article 144 has been imposed in several parts of country such as whole state of Uttar Presh and several parts of Karnataka such as Bengaluru, Kalaburagi and Dharw.
