Arguments over urgency
Initially, Solicitor General urged for matter to be listed on Thursday before Chief Justice’s court as he termed it "t urgent". On this point, Justice Muralidhar retorted that lodging FIR against culprits was an urgent matter. He stressed that Mehta needed to convince court on matter of urgency.

Violence has broken out in several areas in rast Delhi such as Maujpur in clashes over CAA.
