HC tells CBSE to decide on northeast Delhi board exams in one go, not on piecemeal basis

Delhi High Court on Wednesday said class 10 and 12 students who have board examination centres in violence-hit rast Delhi need to be informed in one go about schedule for next 10-15 days and t on a piecemeal basis. direction by court came after CBSE on Wednesday said that exams in 86 schools in violence-hit rast Delhi have been postponed.
A Bench of Justice Rajiv Shakdar was hearing a petition seeking a direction to change examination center for students undertaking class 10 and 12 CBSE examination. court was hearing a plea by a private school, Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir at Surya Niketan in East Delhi, and some of its class X and XII students saying center allotted to m by CBSE was 16 km away from ir school and situated in Chandu Nagar-Karawal Nagar ro, one of violence-hit areas.

Justice Rajiv Shakdher said situation in rast Delhi is getting worse and re have been more deaths and, refore, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) needs to take a call for next 10-15 days. court also asked CBSE to come with instructions about a long-term plan at 2.15 pm.

Plea by Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir
Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir in ir plea stated that it is "absolutely impossible to even think of approaching examination centre, much less reaching re in time to take ir exams. situation is so grim and precarious that students h to rush outside school from back gate and a girl child reported her horrible experience of having been stalked and chased by an armed mob."
Registrar General of high court informed judge that as per inputs of police officials of concerned area, situation is tense. court said it was looking at issue from aspect of children's safety which cant be put at risk.

plea, filed through vocate Kamal Gupta, said "violent clashes and riots have posed a serious threat and danger to life of students and ir parents, in as much as y have option but to reach centre come what may be situation of area around centre; reaching centre t only involves mental agony, trauma and stress for students and ir parents but also poses grave and palpable threat to life and limb".

CBSE postpones exam
On Tuesday, CBSE in an official tice anunced that Board Exams for classes 10th and 12th to be held on February 26 have been postponed. CBSE has also released complete set of schools and centres that will be affected under this tice. Sisodia took to Twitter to anunce that all schools in violence-affected rth-East district will remain closed tomorrow as well.
