Valiv police here received a complaint from a resident of Farwi area in Vasai that his son h gone out of house on December 7 but did not return. police registered a missing case on December 8.

Son sends QR code to his far
While y were conducting a probe into it, complainant received a call from his son stating that three persons h kidnapped him, kept him in captivity, and were demanding a ransom of Rs 30,000, failing which y would kill him, an official said. son also sent a QR code to his far for payment.
Four police teams were n formed and y searched for man in Vasai, Virar, Nallasopara and or places, official said. After working on various les, man was traced to Vasai phata on Saturday. When police enquired with him, y came to know that he wanted money from his far which latter was not rey to give. Hence, he concocted kidnap drama to extract money from his far, official said.
