India completes construction of 60m bridge over Galwan river that China had objected to

Amid the ongoing border tussle with China, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has completed the construction of the bridge that China had objected to.

Amid ongoing border tussle with China, Indian Army has completed construction of bridge that China has objected to. 60m four-span bridge which is near Patroling Point 14, place where 20 Indian Army personnel were martyred fighting Chinese on Monday, was completed on Thursday

Special focus was laid on ro

Earlier, ANI h reported that Army is looking to complete work on 255 Km-long strategic Darbuk-Shyok-Daulat Beg Oldie (DSDBO) ro including eight bridges and its blacktopping at some of stretches by end of this year.  use of strategic ro by Indian security forces from Leh has helped in reducing travel time between Leh and DBO to six hours. Earlier, travel time between two locations was significantly higher.

"We are planning that work on entire stretch should be complete by end of this year which includes eight bridges of different sizes and blacktopping of ro at some of stretches," ANI quoted government sources on June 14.  ro has been in making for over two deces w and a special focus was laid on it after Narendra Modi government came to power in 2014.

bridge connecting Patrolling Point 14 in Galwan area with territory across Shyok river is also linked to strategic ro.

PM Modi to chair an all-party meeting on Friday

Meanwhile, At least 20 political parties are likely to attend all-party meeting, called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss situation at border areas with China that is scheduled to be held on Friday at 5 pm.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP president Jagat Prakash Nda will also be present in virtual party meeting. According to ANI sources, former BJP chief Rajnath Singh h on Thursday personally invited all leers on behalf of Prime Minister.

This is first time since eruption of border tensions in April that PM has called for an all-party meeting to discuss conflict. So far, his virtual meetings with opposition leers have been on coronavirus pandemic.

At least 20 Indian Army personnel, including a Colonel rank officer, h lost ir lives in violent face-off in Galwan valley area of Lakh on June 15. violent face-off happened on late evening and night of June 15 in Lakh's Galwan Valley as a result of an attempt by Chinese troops to "unilaterally change" status quo during de-escalation in Eastern Lakh and situation could have been avoided if agreement at higher level been scrupulously followed by Chinese side, India said on June 16.
