Man held for ticket black marketing of India vs New Zealand World Cup semifinal
Mumbai Police confirmed that Kothari had been taken into custody from his Malad home, acting on information provided by a team at JJ Police Station.

Mumbai: Akash Kothari, 30, was detained in Mumbai on suspicion of selling tickets for much awaited World Cup cricket match between India and New Zealand at Wankhede Stium using fraudulent means. Mumbai Police confirmed that Kothari h been taken into custody from his Mal home, acting on information provided by a team at JJ Police Station.
It was reported that tickets were being sold illegally for up to Rs 50,000, much more than ir original value, through WhatsApp messages that were shared among different groups.

He was marking up tickets four or five times over when he resold m, an official confirmed while ding that charges under sections 420 and 511 of Indian Penal Code have been brought against him for cheating.
“A case under sections 420 and 511 of IPC against an accused named Akash Mahesh Kothari in relation to black marketing of world cup semi final tickets for match between India & New Zealand has been registered. normal tickets which h price of around Rs. 2500 to 4000 were being sold at Rs. 25,000 to 50,000, information was received by our team which h worked out details. concerned accused were contacted. Accordingly, action has been taken and furr investigation of this case is underway,” DCP Zone 1 Pravin Mundhe said.

police have launched an investigation to find out where tickets were obtained and wher re are any or people who might be involved in this illegal ticket scheme.
