Indian Army Chief Gen Naravane in Ladakh for on-ground review amid LAC standoff with China

CAOS MM Naravane is visiting Ladakh on Thursday to review & take stock of the ongoing security situation amid the ongoing tension over the LAC with China

Chief of Army Staff (CAOS) General Maj Mukund Naravane is on a two-day visit to Ladakh on Thursday to review and take stock of ongoing security situation amid tensions at Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. According to sources, Army Chief will be briefed by senior field commanders on ground about situation along LAC.

This visit by CAOS holds prominence as situation along LAC is volatile after provocations by Chinese troops in Sourn bank of Pangong Tso lake in Ladakh. However, Indian Army stated that it pre-empted movement of Chinese troops and thwarted attempts by China to unilaterally change facts on ground.  Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday revealed that China once again engd in provocative action on August 31 even as ground commanders of two nations were trying to deescalate situation. However, Indian Army yet again foiled attempt to unilaterally change status quo.

Brigade commander level talks between India-China 

visit also comes after India and China on Wednesday held ar round of Brigade Commander-level talks to discuss fresh border tension between two countries along sourn bank of Pangong Tso lake. Brigade Commander level talks were held on Tuesday as well between two sides at Chushul to diffuse tensions over fresh flare-up.

Central Government on Wednesday banned an additional 118 Chinese apps in view of fresh border standoff with China in Ladakh between  Armies of two South Asian powers. latest app ban included much-used gaming app PUBG among ors. Earlier on June 29, government had banned 59 Chinese apps, including popular apps such as TikTok, UC Browser, WeChat and Bigo Live. Centre maintained that Chinese apps were prejudicial to sovereignty, integrity and security of country.

ban came in light of standoff with Chinese troops in Galwan valley in Eastern Ladakh. government n banned 47 more Chinese apps that were clones and variants of ones banned earlier, followed by latest ban of 118 apps.
