Kartarpur Gurudwara management row, MEA summons Pakistan High Commission Diplomat
MEA summoned a diplomat of Pakistan High Commission on Friday, following the uproar over the transfer of management of Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib.

Ministry of External Affairs summoned a diplomat of Pakistan High Commission on Friday, following uproar over transfer of manment and maintenance of Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib to a n-Sikh body. MEA spokesperson stated that Pakistan needs to 'reverse its arbitrary decision' while ding that India's 'protest was lodged' after Pakistan diplomat was summoned. This came just a day after India condemned 'unilateral decision' taken by Pakistan on vember 3 to take away ministrative control from Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee (PSGPC) which is run by mirity Sikh community and hand it over to a n-Sikh body, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).
"Pakistan High Commission CDA was summoned and our protest was lodged. We've conveyed that this decision runs against spirit of Kartarpur corridor & Pakistan needs to reverse its arbitrary decision," said MEA spokesperson

"Highly condemnable decision"
In an official statement issued by MEA on vember 5, Ministry stated that move is 'highly condemnable' while ding that it targets 'religious sentiments of Sikh community at large'. Minister informed that y have received several representations from community which have expressed severe concerns over decision taken by Pakistan. Ministry strongly condemned action stating that it 'exposes reality of Pakistan government' while calling upon country to 'reverse its arbitrary decision'.

"This unilateral decision by Pakistan is highly condemnable and runs against spirit of Kartarpur Sahib Corridor as also religious sentiments of Sikh community at large. We have received representations from Sikh community expressing grave concern at this decision by Pakistan targeting rights of mirity Sikh community in Pakistan," re statement from MEA.

"Such actions only expose reality of Pakistani government and its leership’s tall claims of preserving and protecting rights and welfare of religious mirity communities. Pakistan is called upon to reverse its arbitrary decision to deprive Sikh mirity community it’s right to man affairs of Holy Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib," it furr re.

Pakistan targets Sikh Community
Pakistan has been kwn to target mirity communities, From Karachi's Lee Market to Sindh's Bin, all have been targeted and me to feel inferior to citizens of Pakistan. In an official order issued by Pakistan Government anunced establishment of ETPB as ministrative body for maintenance and manment of Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib. A copy of order, which was accessed by Republic World, informs concerned officials that y have been relieved from ir duties 'with immediate effect'.

This comes just days after PSGPC anunced decision to celebrate first anniversary of inauguration of historic Kartarpur Corridor on vember 9. On or hand, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) stated that 'it has t received any instructions to celebrate first anniversary of inauguration of corridor so far', in an attempt to distance itself from PSGPC initiative. Kartapur corridor is a 4-km long corridor that links Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur in India to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan, which was final resting place of Guru Nanak Dev who was founder of Sikh faith. Corridor was formally inaugurated as a part of commemoration ceremony of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on vember 9, 2019.
