Mras High Court (MHC), on Thursday, has asked government to follow all rules while erecting banners for Modi-Xi Jinping meeting, says inconvenience should be caused for public. Preparations are underway for bilateral meetings between Indian PM Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping which is scheduled to happen at Mahabalipuram or Mamallapuram, a historical town which is around 60 km from Chennai. state government in association with central teams and Chinese officials are making all arrangements for smooth meeting for 3 days, starting from 11th to 13th of this month.

As a part of preparations, state government and MEA mentioned to Mras high court that y want to erect banners in 14 places to welcome top leers of both countries as a mark of respect. state government also mentioned that this is a bilateral meeting happening between two strong leers and hence y wanted to erect banners. state government is rey to provide an undertaking that banners will be erected in safety structures and it will t create any hindrance to Public.

matter came for hearing on Thursday at MHC which h interesting arguments. bench comprised of Justice Sathyanarayanan and Seshsayee heard case and put questions to state government as to why y h approached court to erect banners for Chinese president. y also asked wher banners were being erected for foreign dignitaries when y would visit Delhi.

AG of Tamilnu also argued that y don't have a ban to erect banners for Prime Minister and Chinese President since its t a political party. He also argued that y are rey to give an undertaking that all rules will be followed and it will t create any inconvenience to public. Opposing counsel, representing DMK objected to state government's plea and mentioned that government did t give answers for death of two people who died because of banners.

court after hearing arguments said that both state and central government who have sought permission to erect banners should follow all rules which will t cause any inconvenience to public. y have also said that all rules including size of banners and placements should be followed and said that government need t provide any undertaking. This is seen as a set back for AIMK government as y have approached court just after few days of 23-year-old Subhashri's death who died because of an illegal banner. However, court has asked government to go ahe and keep banners welcoming PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping since it's t political.
