Minor lured by offering work in Gujarati films sexually assaulted, Mumbai Police arrests accused

A case of sexual harassment of a minor girl in Mumbai has come to light, where she was lured in the name of getting her work in Gujarati films.

Mumbai: A case of sexual harassment of a minor girl in Mumbai has come to light, where she was lured in the name of getting her work in Gujarati films. The Mumbai Police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and arrested the accused.

A 41-year-old man named Sajid Khan, who had misbehaved with the minor girl by claiming himself to be a director of a Gujarati film, was arrested by the Mumbai Police. Sajid Khan sexually exploited the minor girl.

The Mumbai Police have revealed the modus operandi of the accused.

How man posing as Gujarati director lured minor

A police official said, "The victim, a girl, is a resident of Gujarat. She used to make reels of her videos and upload them on social media. The uncle of the victim made her meet Sajid Khan on December 13 with the hope that he would teach her acting and get her work in films."

"The family of the victim trusted Sajid Khan, taking advantage of which Sajid brought the victim to Mumbai. After coming to Mumbai, Sajid Khan booked a room in a hotel in Andheri in which both of them stayed," said the official.

"On the morning of December 25, Sajid Khan suddenly kissed the girl's forehead and tried to force himself on her. When the girl protested, Sajid Khan turned over and went to sleep. The girl got scared and came out of the room. After this, she reported this to the police following which he was arrested," added the official.

Sajid Khan was produced in court and has been remanded to judicial custody.
