Delhi Court will t be prouncing verdict in case of alleged sexual and physical assault on several girls at a shelter home in Muzaffarpur pertaining to continued lawyers' strike in all six district courts in Delhi. Lawyers in Delhi district courts continued to abstain from work on Thursday, demanding arrest of policemen who allegedly fired at ir colleagues during a clash that took place in early vember.
Delhi Court reserved its order in Muzaffarpur case on September 30 after final arguments by CBI counsel and 11 accused in case in which former Bihar Social Welfare minister and n JD(U) leer Manju Verma also faced flak as allegations surfaced that Thakur, key accused, h links with her husband. She h resigned from her post on August 8, 2018.

accused in case have claimed that CBI h t conducted “fair investigation” in case, which has been registered under provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and entails life imprisonment as maximum punishment. cases were also registered under a criminal conspiracy to commit rape and penetrative sexual assault.

Muzaffarpur shelter home case
Several girls were allegedly raped and sexually abused at an NGO-run shelter home in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. issue h come to light following a report by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). TISS report was given to Bihar Government on May 26, 2018, highlighting alleged sexual abuses of mir girls in shelter home for first time.
On May 29 last year state government shifted girls from shelter home to or protection homes. On May 31, 2018, FIR was lodged against 11 accused in case. top court h on August 2 taken cognisance of alleged sexual assaults of mir girls in Muzaffarpur’s shelter home and transferred probe to CBI on vember 28.
