NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar summoned in Bhima Koregaon violence case
Bhima Koregaon Commission has summoned Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar to appear before the Commission on April 4 in the NIA court of Mumbai

In a recent development concerning Bhima Koregaon case, Bhima Koregaon Commission has summoned Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar to appear before Commission on April 4 in NIA court of Mumbai. This comes at a time when Commission is inquiring into reasons which led to 2018 Bhima Koregaon violence in Maharashtra.

NCP Supremo had expressed resentment over Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's decision of t resisting move of Centre to transfer case to National Investigation ncy (NIA). Pawar had n opined that law and order is a state subject and hence falls under state's jurisdiction. He had advised CM Uddhav Thackeray to constitute an SIT for case.

Supreme Court denies bail to activists Navlakha and Teltumbde
With regards to Bhima Koregaon violence, Supreme Court on Monday denied anticipatory bail to activists Gautam Navlakha and Anand Teltumbde and gave m three weeks to surrender mselves and asked m to surrender ir passports immediately. Bombay High Court also on February 15 rejected ir pleas seeking protection from arrest. HC had in its order said that 'prima facie re is material against applicants to show complicity in crime.' During investigation of case, ncy has also alleged that Navlakha and Teltumbde have Maoist links. Earlier, top court had rejected ir pleas seeking quashing of FIRs registered against m. y were first arrested in case related to violence at Bhima Koregaon in Pune on January 1, 2018.

Bhima Koregaon case
In January 2018, Pune Police lodged an FIR against Navlakha and ors after Elgar Parishad held on December 31, 2017, that had allegedly triggered violence at Koregaon Bhima in Pune district next day. Gautam Navlakha and four ors were accused have booked under provisions of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Sections 121, 121(a) and 124 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) amounting to sedition, waging a war against State, and conspiring to commit certain offences against State.
