NIA busts Al-Qaeda terror module plotting to attack Delhi, arrests made in Kerala & Bengal

National Investigative Agency (NIA) busted an Al-Qaeda terror module in Kerala and West Bengal on Saturday, arresting 11 operatives from Kerala & Bengal.

In a major win, National Investigative ncy (NIA) busted an Al-Qaeda terror module in Kerala and West Bengal on Saturday, September 19, arresting 9 operatives from Kerala and West Bengal. 

As per sources, three operatives were arrested from Ernakulam in Kerala while six operatives were picked up from Murshidab district in West Bengal by NIA, foiling ir plot to carry out a terror attack.

Al-Qaeda operatives were said to target government installations in Delhi-NCR region, sources informed. ​

arrested terrorists will be produced before concerned Courts in Kerala and West Bengal for police 
custody and furr investigation.

Large quantity of incriminating materials including digital devices, documents, jihi literature, sharp weapons, country-me firearms, a locally fabricated body armour, articles and literature used for making home-me explosive devices have been seized from ir possession. As per preliminary investigation, se individuals  were ricalised by Pakistan-based Al-Qaeda terrorists on social media and were motivated to undertake attacks at multiple places including National Capital Region. For this purpose, module was actively indulging in fund raising  and a few members of gang were planning to travel to New Delhi to procure arms and ammunition. se arrests have pre-empted possible  terrorist attacks in various parts of country.

  1. Murshid Hasan, currently a resident of Ernakulam, Kerala.  
  2. Iyakub Biswas, currently a resident of Ernakulam, Kerala.
  3. Mosaraf Hossen, currently a resident of Ernakulam, Kerala.
  4. ​Najmus Sakib, a resident of Murshidab, West Bengal.  
  5. Abu Sufiyan, a resident of Murshidab, West Bengal .                
  6. Mainul Mondal, a resident of Murshidab West Bengal.            
  7. ​Leu Yean Ahmed, a resident of Murshidab, West Bengal .  
  8. Al Mamun Kamal, a resident of Murshidab, West Bengal.
  9. ​Atitur Rehman, a resident of Murshidab, West Bengal.
