Reliance Jio h on Monday moved Punjab and Haryana High Court against vandalisation of its telecom towers in Captain Amarinder Singh ruled-Punjab. company sought government intervention for protection of its assets. RIL, through Reliance Jio Infocomm, moved High Court on Monday, seeking urgent government intervention to "bring a complete stop to illegal acts of vandalism by miscreants". total number of telecom towers which have been damd so far is as many as 1,40,111.
As per a statement issued by RIL, "se acts of violence have endangered lives of thousands of its employees and caused dam and disruption to vital communications infrastructure, sales and service outlets run by its subsidiaries in two states. miscreants indulging in vandalism have been instigated and aided by vested interests and our business rivals." statement also ded that vested interests were taking vant of farmers' agitation to launch an "incessant, malicious, and motivated vilification campaign against Reliance". Reliance has also clarified that it h thing to do with farm laws since it has interest in corporate or contract farming.

Amarinder's appeal fails
Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh h appealed to farmers to t cause inconvenience to general public with such action. He also said that farmers should continue to exercise same restraint as y h shown over past several months of ir agitation. statement issued by Chief Minister's Office (CMO) re, "Pointing out that telecom connectivity h become even more critical for people amid Covid pandemic, chief minister urged farmers to show same discipline and sense of responsibility which y h been exercising during ir protest at Delhi border, which has completed one month, and also earlier during ir agitation in state."

Punjab CM vs Goverr
Punjab CM is embroiled in a war-of-words with Punjab Goverr VP Singh Bre and during ongoing farmers' protest. On Saturday, Singh hit out at Goverr Bre for summoning state DGP and Chief Secretary over vandalism of Jio Network towers. He called move 'a vicious game-plan of BJP' to undermine peaceful agitation of farmers. Asking Punjab Goverr to summon him inste, Captain Amarinder Singh said that Goverr should have taken up matter directly with him as he was custodian of Home Portfolio.
