Punjab CM asks farmers to end 'Rail Roko Andolan', discussion on Farm Laws from Nov 13
Amarinder Singh requested the farmers to completely lift their rail blockade in view of the initiative taken by the Central government.

After Centre anunced its decision to hold a discussion on Farm Laws on vember 13, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh asked farmers' unions to repeal ir 'Rail Roko Andolan'. Issuing a statement, Amarinder Singh requested farmers to completely lift ir rail blocke in view of initiative taken by Central government, asking farmers to allow all passenger trains to pass through state once again.
Chief Minister also urged farmers to take te of Centre’s move to hold talks with m, ding that continuing 'Rail Roko Andolan' any furr would inconvenience lakhs of people including soldiers who would be stranded, unable to come home for Diwali due to suspension of trains in state.

'Rail Roko Andolan' causes power crisis
Last week, Amarinder Singh h requested farmer's unions to ease 'Rail Roko' agitation while accusing Union government of failing to resolve farm laws conflict which led to Brar Power Crisis. As per official statement, massive power short occurred as rail blockes severely impacted supply of coal in state due to which two power units h to be shut down as well.
Following power crisis, Amarinder Singh also requested farmer bodies to lift 'Rail Roko' blockes to allow movement of essential goods. He furr ded that re is a short of diesel as well which is a serious problem.

In a special session of Punjab Assembly on October 21, all legislators unanimously cleared three bills to negate impact of farm laws passed by Parliament. Demanding ir immediate annulment, resolution called upon Centre to pass an ordinance to protect MSP and guarantee government procurement.
