Sood has no license to run hotel, had faced demolition earlier too: BMC
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday urged the Bombay High Court to dismiss actor Sonu Sood's petition seeking to restrain the civic body from carrying out demolition at his property.

Sood suppressed facts that demolition h been carried out at building for illegal construction earlier too and he h license to run a hotel re, BMC said.

actor moved HC after Dindoshi City Civil Court refused to restrain civic body from taking action against alleged unauthorized alterations at building which stands in Juhu area.
Sood converted six floors of residential building into a hotel without permission, BMC has alleged.

Arguing before Justice P K Chavan, BMC lawyer and senior vocate Anil Sakhare said demolition tice was issued in October 2020 after it came to light that he h me several alterations in breach of sanctioned plans.
actor constructed 24 hotel rooms on six floors, numbered m, and guests were found to be staying in se rooms, Sakhare said.

vocate Amogh Singh, Sood's lawyer, contended that he carried out only beautification work for which BMC's permission was t needed.
Sood h applied for a change of user of property in October but application was pending, he said.

But BMC lawyer pointed out that he h t submitted any proof of such an application.
Parts of property h been demolished by BMC in vember 2018 and again in February 2020 for unauthorized construction, Sakhare said.

"He keeps restoring demolished portions every time without permission. He has technical permission or a license to use property as a hotel.
"Yet, he suppresses se facts in his appeal.... appellant has t come with clean hands," Sakhare said, demanding that plea be dismissed.
actor's lawyer also told court that he h mortgd property with a private bank and was using funds for "social causes".
Last year, Sood h earned praise for helping migrant labourers who were returning to ir native states after lockdown was enforced for coronavirus.
Justice Chavan, however, said this point was t relevant.
court said it was reserving its ruling which will be prounced soon.
