DCW's Swati Maliwal calls Gargi college horror 'unbearable', assures support to students
DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal on Monday addressed the students of Delhi's Gargi College and called the alleged molestation incident 'unbearable.'

Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal on Monday, January 10, spoke about alleged sexual harassment of students in college by unidentified men on February 6, and called incident 'unbearable.' In a tweet, she stated that DCW stood strong with girls in ir fight against 'poor mentality' of administration.
DCW Chairperson's tweet roughly translates to " hooliganism and vulgarity that happened at Gargi College is unbearable. After incident, when college administration said that "what was need of students to come to fest", n all limits are exceeded! In fight against this poor mentality, we are standing with students of Gargi College."

DCW issues tice to Delhi Police & Gargi College
Earlier in day, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) had issued a tice to both Gargi College administration and police to find why action has been taken in matter of alleged sexual harassment of female students in college by unidentified men during ir annual cultural fest on February 6. DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal also visited college premises and interacted with students.

While interacting with media Maliwal had said, "We met many students at Gargi College today, who narrated horrifying ordeals faced by m during fest held a few days back. Neir college administration r police has taken any action in matter. Delhi Commission of Women is issuing a tice to both college and police to find out why an FIR has t been registered r have any arrests taken place? When DCW can reach and record statements of girls in college n what was administration waiting for? girls have told us that molestation happened in front of security personnel but action was taken."

Gargi molestation case
On Sunday, students of Delhi University's Gargi College alleged that y were molested by men during ir annual college festival 'Reverie' on February 6. Releasing a statement, a Gargi college student alleged that on Saturday, "8,000-10,000 individuals accumulated in ir campus" by jumping gates and damd property of Gargi. y allegedly manhandled, molested and groped women students during concert.
