Delhi High Court on Friday asked lawyers who moved a petition seeking disciplinary action against Delhi police personnel for carrying out agitation outside police headquarters against Tis Hazari incident to 'use ir good officers for settlement.' petition was filed by advocate Rakesh Kumar Lakra after scores of police personnel laid siege to police headquarters to protest against attacks on police officers at Delhi courts following recent clashes with lawyers.
Chief Justice D N Patel refused to give an early hearing to matter and slated it for February 12 next year. He asked lawyers to use ir good officers for settlement with police. "Use your good officer for settlement. Please wait and watch. long date is required and we will see." petition seeks disciplinary action and initiation of departmental inquiry against several IPS and senior police officers for circulating provocative statements against lawyers on social media. It also demands ir dismissal on grounds that agitation was in complete contravention of prevalent laws.

Lawyer-Police protests
Demanding for protection against such violence against cops, thousands of police personnel on vember 5, gared outside Delhi police headquarters to protest against lawyers who purportedly assaulted police officers at Tis Hazari Court on vember 2. Police officials demanded a trial against suspected lawyers. After being assured that demands will be met, police called off ir protest and joined duty.
Likewise, hundreds of lawyers in Delhi High Court and all district courts abstained from work on vember 4, protesting against Delhi police, demanding arrest of involved Delhi police officials. Continuing ir protests, lawyers are still protesting in various lower courts around Delhi in spite of Bar Council of India urging lawyers to resume duty, waiting for findings of judicial probe. BCI chief Manan Mishra has condemned police action in case but has also assured those lawyers responsible will be punished.

Tis Hazari tussle
A sudden scuffle broke out between lawyers and police at Tis Hazari Court in Delhi on vember 2. According to reports, one lawyer has been injured in fracas and has been rushed to St Stephen's Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment. As per reports, trigger behind violence was a rift between police and lawyers over parking issues in Tis Hazari premises which turned ugly.
