Three policemen, including a sub-inspector, were injured when a group of people attacked a team which had gone to a vill in Shamli district to arrest an accused in a cow slaughter case, officials said on Wednesday. incident took place on Tuesday night in Taprana vill under Jhinjhana police station in Shamli, added.

A case has been registered against 100 people under various sections of IPC and 30 of m have been arrested so far, Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal said. police team had gone to arrest accused Afzal when some villrs started pelting stones and mand to free him, Jaiswal said. Later, extra personnel were deployed and 30 people, including Afzal, were arrested, SP said, adding that security has been tightened in vill.
