Yes Bank case: CBI custody of DHFL promoters Kapil & Dheeraj Wadhawan extended till May 1
A special court extended the CBI custody of Kapil and Dheeraj Wadhawan, the promoters of the Dewan Housing Finance Limited in the Yes Bank case till May 1.

On Wednesday, a special court in Mumbai extended CBI custody of Kapil and Dheeraj Wadhawan, promoters of Dewan Housing Finance Limited in Yes Bank case till May 1. CBI had produced m before court as ir custody was ending on April 29. Earlier on Tuesday, a special court rejected ir bail plea in a money laundering case filed by Enforcement Directorate. ED has charged Wadhawan brors in Yes Bank case and alleged irregularities in investment of Employees Provident Fund of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited.

Court vacates stay on execution of NBWs
Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on April 22 had written to CBI and ED regarding completion of Wadhawans' quarantine period. But Kapil and Dheeraj Wadhawan received a temporary reprieve after Sessions Court in Mumbai ordered a stay on n-bailable warrants (NBWs) issued against m in case registered by CBI. court ruled that Wadhawan brors cant leave jurisdiction of Satara district until May 5 barring for a medical emergency in Mumbai. However, y were arrested on April 26 from Mahabaleshwar after court vacated its stay on execution of n-bailable warrants.

Wadhawans violate lockdown restrictions
DHFL promoters had skipped summons of Enforcement Directorate on March 17 citing COVID-19 pandemic. As per sources, Wadhawans had been travelling to or cities since n. y reportedly proceeded for Mahabaleshwar after owner of ir rented property in Khandala asked m to leave. local informants of central investigative ncies learnt about presence of Wadhawans in Mahabaleshwar after ir neighbours raised an alarm about movement in locality despite lockdown.
Subsequently, 23 members of Wadhawan family were detained and sent to a quarantine centre. y were booked under sections 188, 269 and 270 of Indian Penal Code besides relevant sections of Disaster Manment Act and COVID-19 regulations for violating lockdown regulations. In a surprising turn of events, it emerged that Wadhawans were able to reach Mahabaleshwar on producing a letter written by Principal Secretary (Home) Amitabh Gupta.
