Youtuber Karl Rock backlisted: Delhi HC directs Centre to file response on wife's plea

New Zealand YouTuber Karl Rock's wife Manisha Malik had earlier filed a plea in Delhi High Court challenging the alleged ban on his entry into India.

Following a plea filed by YouTuber Karl Rock’s wife Manisha Malik, Delhi High Court has now directed Centre to file a response in case. Malik h moved to Delhi HC on July 10, challenging alleged ban on New Zealand YouTuber’s entry into India. central government has informed court that Karl Rock is blacklisted since October 2020 and his re-entry can’t be allowed.

Manisha Malik h taken issue to court and argued that Centre's continued silence over various petitions by Rock and herself has led to separation of a married couple. Centre, however, claimed that YouTuber violated visa norms and thus he was blacklisted. Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) h earlier said same to media while responding to a query regarding Karl Rock’s blacklisting. MHA claimed that he was found doing business on a tourist visa, causing him to be barred for one year and his visa getting cancelled.

Moving to HC, Malik’s plea stated, “Non-communication of grounds of blacklisting petitioner’s husband, continued silence maintained by Respondents (Govt authorities) on various representations preferred both by petitioner and her husband, resulting separation of a married couple, lack of any opportunity or notice to petitioner or her husband to indicate any violation of visa conditions and denial of issuance of visa to petitioner, it is submitted, are an arbitrary abuse of power by Respondents and stand in violation of rights of petitioner under Articles 19 and that of petitioner and her husband under Article 21 of Indian Constitution.”

Earlier on July 9, Rock h also taken to YouTube and Twitter to explain his blacklisting. Taking to Twitter, he pleed to New Zealand Prime Minister regarding his blacklist that was done without any prior warnings. He also uploed a 9-minute-long video titled 'Why I Haven’t Seen My Wife in 269 Days #Blacklist' on YouTube claiming that he h travelled out of India to Pakistan and Dubai in October 2020, when his visa was cancelled without any explanation. Karl Rock is famous for his travel and scam reveal videos.
