CRPF & Army nab Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist in Jammu & Kashmir's Awantipora

In a joint operation of two security forces;  Indian Army and CRPF, a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist was caught from Androosa Khrew area of Awantipora in Kashmir. Awantipora Police Unit of Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Thursday in a released statement that 50 RR Unit of Indian Army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) performed a joint cordon and search operation in Androosa Khrew area of police district Awantipora.

police said in statement, “During search operation, joint forces observed some suspicious movement in orchard area which was under cordon." statement furr said, " joint forces noticed a suspected person who was trying to escape but alert operation parties overpowered suspect and apprehended him." According to police, apprehended terrorist identified himself as Shahid Ahmed Khanday and lives in Mandakpal village in Khrew. Khanday worked as an active terrorist for terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen. Several incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession.

A recent encounter in Awantipora

Earlier in August, two more terrorists affiliated with Hizbul Mujahideen outfit were killed in an encounter in same locality, Awantipora. This encounter occurred in midst of a 2am search operation that was launched by security forces in Khrew area of Awantipora. Jammu and Kashmir Police later released a statement in which y stated, “During search operation as presence of terrorists got ascertained, y were given repeated opportunities to surrender, however, y fired indiscriminately upon joint search party which retaliated, leing to an encounter.”

subsequent morning, bodies of two terrorists were recovered from site of combat. y were identified as Musaib Ahm Bhat, who lived in Khrew in Pampore and Muzamil Ahm Rar, who resided in Chakoora in Pulwama. police said while describing Musaib that “he h a history of terror crime and was involved in planning and executing several terror attacks, including civilian atrocities.” police furr said that he was known to be a part of a “hit squ of Hizbul Mujahideen” for civilian killings in South Kashmir.
