CRPF dogs to be equipped with special 'police dog cameras'

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) units deployed in Jammu and Kashmir and Naxals area have planned to equip ir dogs with cameras. According to reports, CRPF will buy 25 police dog cameras initially. process of purchasing se cameras has been initiated. A panel of CRPF officers will analysis multiple samples of Police Dog Camera, as per reports.
Since last few months, CRPF has been researching about se cameras and found operational issues which will be taken under consideration while purchasing se 25 police dog cameras. officials have claimed that CRPF will be first Indian force to purchase se cameras for its K9 unit.

cameras will be placed on back of dogs. se cameras will also help handlers to understand what dogs are viewing. y come with multiple qualities including high definition, water-proof, and scratch-resistant.

"Dogs as well as trainers will require basic training of this tactical electronic device. handler will have an output device where he can view feed of se cameras from a distance. It will help force where we need to analyse situation before involving personnel," claimed a senior CRPF official associated with project.
CRPF will also arrange official training for 50-60 personnel. y will be taught handling, maintenance, and mir repair of equipment. It is expected that force K9 unit will have se cameras by next year. Various K9 units across world are using se police dog cameras including some law enforcement ncies in USA. Staffordshire Police is using dog head camera to record activities of criminals. Similarly Durham Police is also using 'K9cam' to deal with criminals. Portland police last year also tested se cameras for its K9 unit.

Dog show by CRPF K9 unit
Earlier, a dog show was organised in by CRPF Yelahanka in Bengaluru as a part of Sardar Patel Birth anniversary on Saturday. CRPF also exhibited some of its combat weapons in its arsenal to public. weapons also had signboards on display that detailed its origins, use, and capabilities.
