CRPF Jawans who saved a woman honoured; receive DG's Commendation Disc and certificates for brave rescue

In the aftermath of the daring rescue of a 14-year old girl by two CRPF Jawans from a Tangmarg stream in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla District, the CRPF Director General (DG) RR Bhatnagar awarded the DG's Commendation Disc and Certificates to both the Jawans.

In aftermath of daring rescue of a 14-year old girl by two CRPF Jawans from a Tangmarg stream in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla District, CRPF Director General (DG) RR Bhatnagar awarded DG's Commendation Disc and Certificates to both Jawans. 

Talking to Republic, DG narrated whole sequence of events and said that both Jawans have been commended for ir actions for ir presence of mind, alertness, devotion to duty and ir braveness. He also narrated events that unfolded:

"As soon as Constable Naidu and Constable Upendra heard cries for help of a young girl, without wasting any time or without caring for ir own lives y rushed to help girl and y were also assisted by rest of party." 

He also ded how small stream was leing to a larger water source, hence chances of situation furr deteriorating:

 " currents were too fast and riverlet was leing to main river. It was a tricky situation and it would have been difficult to rescue her." he said 

Talking about CRPF's perennial alertness and service in keeping citizens safe, DG said:

" CRPF is always in support of people. We are always rey to do our community service, relief and rescue operations along with civic action programs which connect us to public. We are here to serve and to ensure security of nation." 

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Monday rescued a 14-year old girl who was on verge of drowning in a stream in Jammu and Kashmir's Tangmarg area in Baramulla.  176 CRPF Tangmarg Company was engd in routine area domination of place as per regular schedule. Suddenly, company which was strolling past nearby flowing stream heard a cry for help. CRPF personnel were shocked to see a girl being swept away by strong tides in stream which h a strong undercurrent. Here's nerve-wracking video of whole situation that emerged:

 Wasting time and with a strong presence of mind and cour two jawans from patrolling party,  CT/GD M. G. Naidu and CT/GD N. Upendra rushed towards flowing stream to rescue young girl. Both of se alert jawans jumped in stream and rescued girl. Fellow jawans followed ir partners and formed a human chain hence, successfully completing rescue without any delay or mishaps.  young ly was later identified as Shareefa Gojri who hails from Tangmarg area of Baramulla.
