'Dear Rahul Gandhi. I don't think Congress workers read your freedom of expression views', says Anupam Kher, after Kolkata cinema playing The Accidental Prime Minister is vandalised

Anupam Kher has taken on Congress president Rahul Gandhi over the pathetic display that was witnessed in Kolkata on Friday night when Congress workers barged into a multiplex while The Accidental Prime Minister was playing and ripped apart the screen.

Anupam Kher has taken on Congress president Rahul Gandhi over patic display that was witnessed in Kolkata on Friday night when Congress workers barged into a multiplex while Accidental Prime Minister was playing and ripped apart screen.

Taking to Twitter, veteran actor who plays former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in film that is based on book of same name by Dr Singh's former media visor Sanjaya Baru, has questioned Rahul Gandhi about actions of his party workers, referencing Congress president's past tweets and statements championing Freedom of Expression.

On Friday, in an absolutely deplorable display of hooliganism, Congress workers in Kolkata entered and vandalised a movie atre in Kolkata's Quest mall to protest release of Accidental Prime Minister.

party workers h been up to civic disorder all day, first burning effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hind cinema at Kolkata's Chandni Chowk. 

y barged into Quest mall, carrying Congress' flags and chanting slogans calling for movie to be shut down, with Mall's security unable to put a stop to ir entry. y proceeded up to IX multiplex at mall's higher floors during 8:20 pm primetime show, entered hall, went up to screen and ripped it apart at bottom.

Visuals accessed of vandalism shows screen torn in two places right down middle, with larger tear being up to about 10 feet high and smaller one, up to 5 feet. Staff are seen attempting to temporarily patch up screen.

However, despite clear blemish in screen, Congress workers' designs didn't pan out as audience continued to watch film in this state and multiplex refused to cancel show in question or any or show of film. police also n intervened to bring situation under control.

An IX regional director has issued a statement. "re h been a mir interruption around 8 pm at Quest. Hence with help of police situation was taken under control and rmal screening continued", said Amitava Guha Thakurta.
