After free metro ride and electricity, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has now announced free WiFi in the national capital. During a press conference on Thursday, August 8, he said that 15 GB of the Internet will be provided to every user per month at the bus stops. The AAP chief further stated that the process of implementation of the same will initiate in the coming 3-4 months, as soon as tender will comes.
Giving out details about the impending project he said, the user will have to register him/her with their number to avail the service. It will be on PPP model and around 100 crore cost is estimated for the same. The internet speed will be around 200 Mbps and up to 200 users can use per hotspot at a time, within a radius of 50 meters.

Sharing his insights to the project, he said, this is for the youth who were asking for free WiFi and said that it will also benefit the students. He further emphasized on how it is the 'free WiFi first time ever in the world.'

Meanwhile, previously, Delhi CM Kejriwal announced 'Free Lifeline Electricity of 200 units to all'. He said that household consuming 200 units or less power will now get a Zero Bill every month. However, if a household will use more than 200 units, then existing rates of electricity will apply. He added that those consuming 201 to 401 units of electricity will continue to get a 50 percent power subsidy from the Delhi government.

There has been massive backlash for Arvind Kejriwal with the Opposition alleging "freebies" for the people of Delhi. Ahead of the elections, he had also announced free metro ride for women in Delhi.
