Kejriwal: 13K marshals to be deployed in buses to ensure women safety

Asserting AAP govt's commitment to boost women's security in Delhi, Kejriwal announced that the number of marshals deployed in Delhi buses will be increased

Asserting his government's commitment to boost women's security in national capital, Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal on Monday anunced that number of marshals deployed in Delhi buses will be increased to nearly 13,000 on Tuesday. anuncement comes a day ahe of AAP government's scheme to make travel free of cost for women in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses.

"We are committed to boosting women's security in Delhi"

Kejriwal, while dressing a garing of newly-recruited bus marshals at Tyagraj Stium said, "Tomorrow is going to be a historic day. Delhi will be first city in whole country to take initiative of deploying marshals for women's security." He ded, "We are committed to boosting security of women in Delhi. Delhi is like one big family, and I am elder son of this family. Being elder son, I will bear cost of commuting in DTC buses, of our mors, sisters, and daughters, from tomorrow."

"Women do t feel safe in Delhi"

"Women do t feel safe in Delhi, and we have to mit it," said Delhi CM, ding he feels that ensuring ir safety is his responsibility. He asked marshals t to spare anyone who misbehaves with women. He furr said that if his duty to provide facilities to two crore citizens of Delhi.

Speaking about security measure taken by his government, Kejriwal said that three lakh CCTV cameras have been installed in every corner of Delhi and or city in world has ever done it before. "From next month onwards, work to install two lakh street lights will begin in city," he ded.

Kejriwal's 'freebies'

Ahe of Delhi Assembly elections which are scheduled next year, Kejriwal has been anuncing a number of schemes that Opposition touts as 'freebies'. From free ride to women passengers in buses and Metro trains to reduction in electricity bill, Kejriwal's anuncements have been criticised by Opposition.

Free wi-fi

Kejriwal h also anunced free WiFi in national capital. During a press conference on August 8, he said that 15 GB of Internet will be provided to every user per month at bus stops. AAP chief furr stated that process of implementation of same will initiate in coming 3-4 months, as soon as tender will comes. Giving out details about impending project he said, user will have to register him/her with ir number to avail service. It will be on PPP model and around 100 crore cost is estimated for same.  internet speed will be around 200 Mbps and up to 200 users can use per hotspot at a time, within a rius of 50 meters.
