As pollution levels in national capital hovered close to emergency levels, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday stated that Delhi government will make a decision wher or t to continue Odd-Even scheme on vember 18. CM Kejriwal dressing press stated, "As per wear forecasts, air quality in Delhi is set to improve in next two to three days. If air quality does t improve, we will make a decision on extending Odd-Even scheme on vember 18."

Odd-Even scheme began on vember 4
Odd-Even scheme, an anti-pollution measure, kicked in on vember 4 in national capital. Under scheme, vehicles are supposed to ply alternately on odd and even dates as per ir registration numbers between 8 AM and 8 PM. scheme is t effective on Sundays and its violation attracts a fine of Rs. 4,000.

AQI on Friday was recorded at 482
overall Air Quality Index (AQI) in national capital on Friday was recorded at 482 which falls under 'Severe' category with PM10 being 504 and PM2.5 - 332, according to Center-run SAFAR. Furr, AQI recorded near Mathura Ro in Delhi was 554 (PM10) at 9:00 am on Friday, while near Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, AQI stood at 560 (PM10), Chandni Chowk recorded an AQI of 484 (PM10) and 488 ( PM2.5). During winter each year, most of rrn India suffers from a spike in toxicity in air due to change in wear patterns and crop residue burning in states of Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Presh.

Supreme Court, on Wednesday, criticised Centre over deteriorating air quality in Delhi and asked government to find a solution to problem of air pollution. It asked Centre to explore Hydrogen based fuel techlogy to find a solution to reduce air pollution in rth India and Delhi-NCR. In reply, Centre also told Supreme Court that it is exploring techlogy, including that from Japan and is trying to tackle air pollution. Furrmore, it has been decided that Centre will submit a report on issue by December 3.
