New Delhi: Three UPSC aspirants at Rau's IAS Study Circle in Delhi's Rajendra Nagar lost ir lives due to basement drowning.
incident has triggered massive protests across national capital and a political fight as BJP terms mishap ‘murder by AAP’.

Delhi Tragedy: UPSC Aspirants Die after Drowning in Basement due to Waterlogging
Three UPSC aspirants, Shriya, Navin and Taniya died in basement of Rajendra Nagar's Rau's IAS Study Circle, due to waterlogging after rain in Delhi.
According to Delhi Fire Department (DFS), a call about waterlogging was received from Rao IAS Study Centre at about 7 pm.

"A total of five fire tenders were rushed to site. basement was full of water," an official said.
Students Stage Massive Protests
Or UPSC aspirants have been staging massive protests outside Rau's IAS Study Circle and have been demanding justice for those deceased.

A candle march is also being oraganised or those ho have lost ir lives.

Basement of 13 Civil Services Institutes have been sealed after tragic incident in a coaching centre, yesterday, said MCD.

"We have identified 8 coaching centres which are in basement and among m we have sealed three of m. Compensation will be provided by government. Action will be taken in incident. A survey is being done. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered by government," said Tariq Thomas, ditional Commissioner MCD.

Rao’s was running in disregard to fire clearance conditions. It did not provide free access. It used storage as place for coaching/ library. H it followed norms of approval, tragedy would have been averted This coaching centre and or buildings along ro have unfortunately encroached and covered storm drains by extending ir buildings in form of platforms and ramps, reby making draining of water difficult and cleaning of drains impossible, MCD said.

According to police, incident happened at 6:35 pm...Rainwater suddenly filled basement of coaching centre. As soon as information of incident. Delhi Police ASI Birendra immediately reached spot. fire department officials received a call at around 7:10 pm. According to fire officer, water was immediately pumped out from basement. In such a situation, help of divers was needed. refore, NDRF was informed about this. rescue operation was being carried out with a big torch. student's body was taken out at around 10:40 pm. second body was taken out at around 11:10 pm. third body was found by NDRF at around 1 am.
