K Kavitha Arrested: BRS leader K Kavitha on Saturday remanded to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody till March 23 by a Delhi Court in the money laundering case related to the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. The ED had sought a 10 days custody for K Kavitha, however the court granted a 7 days custody to the central probe agency. K Kavitha was on Friday arrested by the ED officials from Hyderabad in connection with the money laundering probe pertaining to the Delhi liquor policy case.

K Kavitha, daughter of former-Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, was earlier produced before Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. During the hearing of the case, K Kavitha reportedly claimed that her arrest was illegal. Her lawyer, too, accused the ED of flouting Supreme Court directions while arresting her.

In the court, K Kavitha termed her arrest ‘illegal’ saying, "It's an illegal arrest, will fight it out."

The 46-year-old BRS MLC, was arrested on Friday and brought to Delhi late last night.

The Enforcement Directorate sought her 10-day custody from the court, while her defence contested the same as they had called the probe agency action 'illegal', as her petition for no coercive action in this case is pending before the Supreme Court and is listed for March 19.
