Delhi government on Saturday approved setting up of 'Delhi Kesh Kala Board' to revive and promote tritional art of hair grooming by implementing welfare measures for barbers and providing m vanced training and financial assistance. Significant disruptive techlogical solutions have fuelled growth of hair care industry and demand of hair care products is increasing both in rural and urban markets, an official statement said. Ufficial estimates peg worth of India's hair care industry at Rs 22,500 crore, it said.

While hair cutting profession has tritionally been opted by barber community, considered a backward class, y have t been able to opt se new capital-intensive techlogies and refore, remain largely un-benefited from spurt in growth of this industry, government said.
