Delhi-NCR Rains LIVE: Residents of the national capital and its neighbouring regions woke up to heavy rains on Thursday, with the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting more rain until Friday and issuing a orange alert for the city which denotes heavy rainfall and also potential disruptions to rail, road and air transport.

The overnight downpour caused flooding of roads, waterlogging in low-lying areas, and the closure of several underpasses. The IMD cited multiple factors contributing to the extended wet conditions, warning of potential waterlogging and traffic disruptions. Gusty winds, reaching speeds of up to 30 kmph, are also expected to accompany the rain.

The moderate rain caused waterlogging and traffic jams on several major roads, prompting the Delhi Traffic Police to issue an advisory urging commuters to avoid flooded routes and use alternate roads.
