Delhi High Court on Friday said that " coercive action" should be taken against two Delhi police officials who allegedly fired at a lawyer during clashes at Tis Hazari court, till December 23. A division bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar was hearing an application filed by Delhi Police seeking coercive action to be taken against Assistant Sub Inspectors Kanta Prasad and Pawan till completion of judicial inquiry in incident. Representing Delhi Police, advocate Rajdipa Behura sought limited protection and argues that two accused should t be arrested during pendency of judicial inquiry in incident. "We are two legs of this society, we should live in harmony. second prayer is by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) that status report should be filed, however, according to protocol, until judicial enquiry is concluded, subordinate court can pass any order," Behura said. He also contended that lawyers part of incident had also been granted similar protection.
HC issues tice to bar associations
High Court also issued a tice to Delhi High Court Bar Association, Bar Council of Delhi and Bar Council of India. Based on application, se tices were issued and bar associations had been granted time to file ir response. DHCBA president advocate Mohit Mathur opposed application of Delhi Police while alleging that police were t investigating case properly. Mathur claimed lawyers are t being provided with FIR copy.

Tis Hazari tussle
A sudden scuffle broke out between lawyers and police at Tis Hazari Court in Delhi on vember 2. According to reports, one lawyer was injured in a gunshot and was rushed to St Stephen's Hospital. As per reports, trigger behind violence was a rift between police and lawyers over parking issues in Tis Hazari premises which turned ugly.
