New Delhi: A mobile shop owner was allegedly beaten to death with baseball bat by his neighbor in Delhi's Mangolpuri area on July 8, said the police, as per media reports.
The accused has been identified as Prince (18) who brutally assaulted Naresh (24) at his shop as the victim allegedly misbehaved with his sister a few days ago, according to media reports.
Naresh was taken to the Maharaja Agrasen Hospital in West Punjabi Bagh, where he died during treatment, police stated.
Prince was apprehended from the railway station flyover at Delhi Cantonment Area based on CCTV analysis, the police said.
During interrogation, Prince told the police that he wanted to settle scores with Naresh who behaved inappropriately with his sister. The accused was planning to flee to his village in Rajasthan, said the police who have recovered the baseball bat used for the crime.
“Naresh has three brothers and two sisters. Further investigations are underway,” said an officer.
The police at Mangolpuri station have registered a case under sections 103 and 3 (5) of the Bharatiya Nyays Sanhita, based on the complaint of Suraj, Naresh’s brother.
