Delhi Police assures journalist assault case 'will be solved soon'
Commenting on the attack on the woman journalist in Chittaranjan Park, DCP Central Delhi M Randhawa has revealed that they have gathered vital clues in the case

Commenting on attack on woman journalist in Chittaranjan Park, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central Delhi, Mandeep Randhawa stated on Thursday that police h gared "vital clues" in case. He furr ded that y were in possession of a lot of information. While asserting that case would be solved soon, he revealed that police h increased patrolling in risky areas to prevent such incidents in future.

On September 22, victim h gone shopping near Chittaranjan Park and was returning back at around 6 pm in an auto-rickshaw. At this juncture, two bike-borne miscreants came close to her auto-rickshaw when traffic movement was slow. woman journalist suffered injuries on her face and hands after y dragged her out of moving auto-rickshaw. y snatched her phone and mand to flee spot. She was initially taken to a nearby hospital as she was bleeding profusely. Later, she was shifted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

Caught on CCTV camera
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, while talking to media, condemned incident and expressed hope that culprits would get strictest punishment.
"I got to kw about an incident where a woman journalist from ANI (Asian News International) was attacked by chain snatchers. It is very unfortunate and sdening. I hope culprits get strictest punishment. All of us toger need to work to reduce crime incidents in Delhi," Kejriwal observed.

While police registered an FIR and formed a special team to probe matter on Monday, it suspended an assistant sub-inspector and two constables for inaction a day later. Subsequently, y revealed that suspects h been caught on CCTV camera.
