Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora has instructed district police heads to enhance patrolling in their areas every 15 days, especially in light of the upcoming Haryana elections and the festive season, according to an official announcement on Wednesday.

During a recent meeting at police headquarters, Commissioner Arora emphasized the need for increased visibility of senior police officers throughout the capital. He specifically called for patrols in vulnerable zones, isolated areas, and busy marketplaces.

To implement this strategy, each district’s three Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) officers are tasked with patrolling from 7 PM to 10 PM daily for the next 15 days. Delhi comprises 15 police districts, each overseen by a DCP, supported by two additional DCPs—Additional DCP 1 and Additional DCP 2—who report directly to the district DCP.

The patrolling efforts are to be conducted on a rotational basis among the DCPs. These measures have been put in place to ensure security during the forthcoming Haryana elections and to maintain order during the festive period. The initiative also extends to the patrolling activities of Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) within their jurisdictions.
