A day after massive protest march by JNU students to Parliament, Delhi Police on Tuesday filed 2 FIRs against students who y claim clashed with cops and created ruckus near Safdargunj Tomb area and Jor Bagh area in Delhi. Sources said that Delhi Police might file ar FIR against students. JNU students demanding complete rollback of hostel manual, on Monday marched to Parliament but were stopped at Jor Bagh area.
When students sat in a sit-in protest, reby bringing traffic to halt in area, Delhi Police eventually mand to clear area. Meanwhile, taking a step to bring situation back to rmal, Ministry of Human Resource Development has set up a 3-member high-powered committee to resolve issues of JNU students via dialogue.
JNU administration, on or hand, said that students are protesting in an undemocratic way. y claimed that students heckled and gheraoed m. y also said, in a press briefing on Sunday that hostel manual was implemented only after proper consultations.

What are students demanding?
JNU students marched towards Parliament as winter session commenced on Monday, demanding a complete rollback of fee-hike for all in JNU. y alleged that crores of Rupees for secondary and higher cess have t been utilised, quoting a CAG report. y are against National Education Policy claiming that it closes door on public-funded education. students' union has been on a strike against Draft Hostel Manual which was approved by Inter-Hall Administration. y claim that manual has provisions for fee hike, curfew timings and dress code restrictions for students. y have said y will t end strike till Hostel Manual is withdrawn.

Hostel fees rolled back
On Wednesday, JNU administration anunced a roll-back of hostel fees after massive and continuous protest by students. Anuncing roll-back on Twitter, Education Secretary R Subrahmanyam said that JNU executive committee has rolled back fees that were hiked. Secretary also added that it is time to go back to classes as JNU executive committee has proposed a scheme for ecomic assistance to EWS students.
