Delhi police issues ADVISORY for motorists amid dense fog | Dos & Don'ts here

The common ways used by people to remove fog from car windscreens include cleaning windscreen using a cloth or a paper and opening all the windows.

New Delhi: Amid the national capital witnessing dense fog for the past few days, especially in the morning hours, the Delhi Police has shared some tips on how to demist windscreens. The dense fog is one of the common reasons behind accidents during winters which can also disrupt road traffic. The common ways used by people to remove fog from car windscreens include cleaning windscreen using a cloth or a paper, and opening all the windows. Here are two tips that can be useful for commuters.

Here are the tips:

  • To remove mist from the front screen, place the AC vent on the windscreen on car dashboard and keep the AC temperature on heat mode. 
  • To remove fog from the rear windscreen, press the defogger button available in latest car models.

Fog on windscreen can cause difficulties for drivers and may also be dangerous. The above mentioned steps can be helpful since people can remove the fog without stopping the vehicle. It is advised to check the speed of the vehicle while during through fog and blow horns during changing lanes. A few days ago, several people sustained injuries and 12 vehicles crashed in a massive pile-up on a Yamuna Expressway stretch near Greater Noida. This month several people lost their lives in road accidents due to fog in Uttar Pradesh.
