The air situation in Delhi is seemingly worsening. ANI via their official Twitter handled tweeted that on Tuesday morning the, “air quality remains in the 'Unhealthy' category'. On Monday, the Supreme Court slammed the authorities for their failure to curb pollution in Delhi-NCR stated that people are losing precious years of their lives due to pollution.

'It is too much'
The top court called the pollution in Delhi-NCR as atrocious and said no one is safe even inside homes. "It is too much. No one is safe even inside their house. It is atrocious," the bench said. People are being advised not to come to Delhi due to pollution, state governments are responsible for this. "You are asking people to die. Your states (Punjab and Haryana) are also badly affected. Is this the administration left in Punjab and Haryana? Every year this is happening. We will fasten the liability of states and panchayats also," the bench said.

Delhi government's Odd-Even scheme to tackle pollution
The Delhi government has implemented the Odd-Even scheme from Monday in a bid to curb air pollution. The scheme entails that vehicles with odd and even number plates will ply on alternate days. It has commenced from Monday and will continue till November 15. Women-driven vehicles, cars ferrying school children, taxis, ministers of the Central government have been exempted from the ambit of this scheme. However, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his ministerial colleagues will abide by the Odd-Even rule. Addressing the media on Monday, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia claimed that there was high compliance pertaining to this scheme and stated that 192 challans had been issued.
