Delhi Chokes as Air Quality Worsens Further After Diwali, AQI Above 300

New Delhi: Delhi’s air quality plummeted overnight, reaching alarming levels on Monday morning just few days after Diwali , with areas like Anand Vihar recording an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 433, marking worst pollution levels of season so far. According to data from Central Pollution Control Board, city’s overall AQI stood above 300 in ‘Very Poor’ category.
air pollution in Delhi is reaching dangerous heights, with PM2.5 concentrations w 59 times higher than safe levels recommended by World Health Organization (WHO), as reported by IQAir website. Such high pollution levels pose serious health risks, including potential lung and brain dam, especially for those exposed to it continuously.

- Anand Vihar: 433 (severe)
- Alipur: 385 (very poor)
- Ashok Vihar: 409 (severe)
- Bawana: 408 (severe)
- IGI Airport: 369 (very poor)
- Jahangirpuri: 413 (severe)
- Mundka: 400 (severe)
- Rohini: 409 (severe)
- Moti Bagh: 400 (severe)
