Delhi Rains: Orange Alert Issued, Thunderstorms Predicted; Waterlogging Causes Traffic Woes

Delhi has been witnessing excessive rain for the past days and IMD has issued an orange alert for today; waterlogging in the city has also caused traffic woes.

New Delhi: The national capital has been at the receiving end of a heavy downpour for the past two days which has brought down the temperatures and has also improved Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) significantly. As Delhi witnesses heavy rainfall for consecutive days, an orange alert has also been issued for today and there are multiple traffic updates due to waterlogging.

IMD Issues Orange Alert in Delhi, Thunderstorms Predicted

Amid the ongoing showers experienced by New Delhi, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the national capital, for today. The weather department has predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms for Delhi, for today, September 14.

Delhi Rains: Waterlogging Causes Traffic Woes

The rains in the national capital have resulted in waterlogging in most parts of the city which has further resulted in a lot of traffic woes. The Delhiites are facing long hours of traffic jams because of the rain and waterlogging. 

Traffic is affected on Rohtak Road in the carriageway from Nangloi towards Tikri Border and vice versa due to potholes and water logging. Kindly avoid Mundka and take alternate route accordingly.

Traffic is affected on Road No. 205 in the carriageway from Sector 19/20, Dwarka crossing towards Kargil Chowk due to uprooting of a tree. Kindly avoid Road No. 205 and take alternate route accordingly.
