12-Year-Old Dies due to Electric Shock in Delhi Rains, Death Toll Climbs to 8
Amid the heavy downpour in Delhi, eight people have lost their lives across the NCR region including two children aged twelve and three.

New Delhi: Delhi has been experiencing heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning since yesterday; the heavy rain has caused traffic snarls, flight delays and has also claimed lives.
A total of eight people have lost their lives due to the torrential rains in the national capital including a twelve and three-year-old boy.

Delhi Rains: Death Toll Reaches 8
Eight people across Delhi-NCR have lost their lives due to the heavy rains in the national capital; while two drowned in a waterlogged drain, two died in a wall collapse, three others were electrocuted and a 12-year-old boy got an electric shock due to the Delhi rains.

A child died due to electric shock due to rain in Delhi's Bindapur area.

According to the police, the boy was 12 years old and was walking close to a wall when he got an electric shock due to rain and waterlogging.
The police is currently investigating the matter.

3 Electrocuted to Death in Gurugram
Three persons namely Wasim, Jayapal and Devendra died after an electric pole fell on them last night while they were sleeping.
The incident occured near IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram.

Two people have also lost their lives after a wall collapse; however, not many details regarding the same are available.
Mother-Son Duo Die after Drowning in Delhi's Ghazipur
In a rather unfortunate event, a 22-year-old woman and her three-year-old son lost their lives amid the heavy rains in Delhi.

The mother-son duo drowned in a waterlogged drain in the Ghazipur area of the national capital.
An incident occurred yesterday night at around 8.00 p.m. when the mother-son duo, residents of Khora Colony UP, fell in an under-construction DDA drain near Ambedkar Gate of Khora Colony (UP - Delhi border) Ghazipur.
Both were taken to the LBS hospital by Delhi Police where they were declared dead.
India Meteorological Department Issues Advisory
As Delhiites experience heavy rains, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an advisory for all the residents.
“Avoid going to areas that face water logging problems often", the advisory reads.
Delhi Schools Closed amid Heavy Rains
Delhi Education Minister Atishi in a post on X announced that all private and government schools will remain shut.
"In light of very heavy rainfall today evening and forecast of heavy rainfall tomorrow, all schools - government and private - will remain closed tomorrow, 1st August," the post read.
